Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance

The People's Advocacy Service is a full and active member and we recommend you to visit their site at www.siaa.org.uk. This site will give you much more detailed information on a wide range of issues, and holds a great deal of information on advocacy throughout Scotland. The site also contains a Forum which enables a wide ranging discussion of advocacy related issues.


Dumfries and Galloway Council
The Local Council site, www.dumgal.gov.uk hosts a great deal of information and documents, among these being the Health and Community Care Plan, which sets out the priority "Care Groups" and actions for the next 3 years.

In Dumfries and Galloway, the Council and NHS work together closely on many issues, including the funding and commissioning of advocacy.


NHS Scotland
www.show.scot.nhs.uk hosts a number of documents relating to advocacy in Scotland, including an evaluation of PASS Direct, the service we evolved from, undertaken by the Advocacy Safeguards Agency in 2004.


The Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland  www.mwcscot.org.uk contains a great deal of information about the Mental Health Act, the Adults with Incapacity Act and other safeguards.
