The People's Advocacy Service

Volunteering and Training

We are always keen to take on new volunteer advocates. If you would like an informal discussion please do not hesitate to contact us. Alternatively you can download the application form and return it to us in the post.

The core training takes place at regular intervals and comprises three modules over 6 days. This is followed by a selection interview and an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Check.

Volunteer Advocates receive ongoing support, supervision and training throughout their involvement with us. We recently were awarded Volunteer Action?s Best Practice Award for Valuing Volunteers.

No matter who you are, we welcome your interest. Volunteering is very valuable, and provides invaluable support to clients and staff. Volunteers bring very specific skills to our organisation, not least their commitments and experience. Working in Advocacy can be a very valuable personal and professional developmental step.
