AWARENESS & TRAINING SESSIONS;

We are pleased to be able to announce that The People's Advocacy Service now have a three year contract with NHS Dumfries & Galloway NHS Board and Council to provide two core independent advocacy service from April 2007 - March 2010.

These services are:

  •        Generic Adult Advocacy Services - to promote empowerment of adult residents of Dumfries and Galloway who require help, in whatever context, to understand the options open to them and/or to make their own views known.

 Adult Mental Health Act independent advocacy

  •         to provide independent advocacy to people with a mental disorder in accordance with the requirements of the Mental Health Act, allowing people to be empowered and their views heard.

The People's Advocacy Service is an independent charitable company, with experience of providing independent advocacy since 1993.

We provide advocacy for all people experiencing vulnerability, in Dumfries and Galloway in particular, but not exclusively. We are a generic or general advocacy service, with no age or capacity barriers.
